In order to prevent interference with aircraft instruments, especially compass instruments, the shipper should package the magnetic materials in the following manner: the opposite poles of the instruments and devices such as magnetrons and illuminometers must be placed opposite each other. The permanent magnet material must be equipped with a magnetically-loaded armature or a screen to prevent the magnetic field from causing deviation of the compass meter. Each package of magnetic material must be properly marked and labeled in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 7 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. Ensure that the magnetic field strength measured at 4.6 m (15 ft) from the surface of the package does not exceed 0.418 A/m (0.00525 gauss) before shipment.
First use the general iron sheet to fix around the inside of the carton and up and down, and then fill it with foam. Such a package can pass the security check of the airline for some magnetic weak magnets. For magnets with stronger magnetic properties, you can consider increasing the thickness of the iron sheet, or you can change it to a thick iron plate to fix it, or reduce the number of magnets inside the box, and increase the distance between the magnet and the outer box.
The method generally used for magnetic isolation of magnets: Generally, the magnetic field is shielded, and the magnetic field or the low-frequency magnetic field is mostly referred to. The main reason is that the magnetic field of the magnetic material is “short-circuited”, and the magnetic field will be concentrated on the box material. The closer the formation is, the thicker the iron sheet is, the better the tightness of the upper and lower sides of the iron sheet is, and the better the magnetic line is sealed, the less the magnetic lines leaking out of the box. It can play a better degaussing effect.
As a shielding effect, the higher the magnetic permeability of the material, the better; the same material, the thicker the better; the same material and thickness, the more layers, the better. In addition, the magnet should be placed in the center of the shielding box to avoid more concentrated magnetic lines on one side and more leakage.
After all the upper and lower sides are fixed with iron, the inside is filled with foam. After the packaged magnet is placed in the center of the package, it is sealed. After packing, you can put a small paper clip around the package to see if it will be sucked in the box. Outside, if you can't be sucked, it means that the effect of the magnetic isolation package is better, you can rest assured that the courier, if you can firmly hold it, you should consider re-reinforcing the package.
