The Gauss of NdFeB ≠ Pull Force of neodymium magnet
Many customers will ask how many Gauss of this magnet and how much weigh of staff it can lift up under this gauss value. There is also a similar unprofessional questions ,how much magnetic force the magnet 3000 Gauss has. I wanna to tell you ,those questions drive me crazy. Why?
What is Gauss?
Gauss “B” mainly refers to the strength of the external magnetic field excited by the magnet. The magnetic size of the magnet is also related to his intrinsic coercive force “H”. Generally, the product of “H” and “B” will decide the strength of the magnet, we can sy that Gauss does not represent the pull force of the magnet.
Pull force = unit magnetic* unit area
Take the disc/cylinder magnet as sample:
Same performance, same thickness, smaller diameter, larger gauss
Same performance, same diameter, the greater the thickness, larger gauss
Same thickness, same diameter, higher performance, higher gauss
Then how to Evaluate the pull force of magnet?
Actually, the suction of magnet is decide by the size ,the shape and even the magnetized director of magnet. The surface central gauss and the edge surface gauss cannot show the pull force of magnet.
For the relationship between gauss and the pull force of neodymium magnet is uncalculated .We can not give conclusion simply without techic base that the larger the Gaussian magnet, the greater its attaching force.
Here is an example:
Small magnet and 5000GS, can absorb 0.8KG
The large magnet and only 1000GS can absorb 100KG, so it is related to its volume (contact surface).
Conclusion: The same magnet specifications, the higher the performance, the larger the surface Gaussian value, the stronger the magnetic.
The Gauss of each magnet, the normal constant need to be measured are the edge side of surface gauss and the Central point of gauss
The difference in Gauss does not greatly affect performance and pull force, and the difference in the normal range is normal.
The narrowed gauss torelance is important for high quality speaker.
The Gauss magnets of magnet which produced by the same batch of materials also have gauss tolerances generally within +/- 100 Gauss. High requirements, such as high-performance headphones which ask for a equal sound from both side of speaker , requiring control at +/- 50 Gauss. This is also the advantage of our Jintong Magnet
